Missionary Requirements

 

EMI Policies

Missionary Requirements:

1. All un-mortgaged debts must be paid, or have arrangements made for payment, before leaving for your field of service.

2. Every missionary’s appointment is subject to reconsideration by EMI, if his departure to the field is unreasonably delayed. This reconsideration will be based on the percent of support raised after 2 years of deputation.

3. One hundred percent of support must be raised before going to language school or going to the field. Any special exceptions will require a meeting with the sending church pastor, the missionary and the field director.

4. Funds must be raised for:

-Personal Support

-Life Insurance

-Work Fund

-EMI Administrative Expenses

-Health and Life Insurance

-Furlough Fund

-Retirement Fund

5. All missionary stationary, ministries, literature, and prayer cards must have the name, address, phone number, and Logo of EMI on them and a copy sent to the home Office.

6. A copy of every prayer letter must be sent to EMI and the Field Director. Prayer letters should be sent out once a month or at least every two months. EMI must have the name and phone number of any prayer letter service you use.

7. Quarterly ministry sheets to EMI must be completed and returned promptly each quarter with all the requested information c/o Jimmy Ammons.

8. All missionaries must have the approval from EMI before making any change in their marital status.

9. Missionaries on any field who desire to affiliate with any other group that is not a Independent Baptist ( such as fellowships, service agencies, religious counsels, etc.) must first submit, in writing, the constitution of the agency for official approval of EMI and be so certified before affiliating with that group.

10. Missionaries who desire to sponsor a missionary not with EMI, must first submit a request, in writing, for official approval by EMI.

11. All missionary support must come through the EMI office. All special offerings must be properly reported on the Love offering form to EMI. No support should be sent directly to the missionary’s checking account.

12. Missionaries are not to do deputation in non-Baptist churches or organizations. All support must be raised from those who agree with our Doctrinal Statement and Biblical principles as Independent Baptist.

13. The missionary must be loyal to EMI.

14. All missionaries on deputation must give to the pastor of the church, or Director of the group where the meeting is being held, EMI literature as printed by EMI.

15. All missionaries going to a country that requires a language other than English must go to no less than one year of language school. All language study schools must be approved by the Field Director. Missionaries may not start a work until language study is finished. A language evaluation will be done at the end of the language school. Missionaries learning a language where there is no language school available will discuss with their director on the course of study that should be taken. If the language cannot be learned within a reasonable time frame then the missionary will meet with the Field director and his pastor to discuss another alternative of service.

16. All missionaries in the English speaking world must use only the King James Version in their preaching and teaching.

17. Missionaries who do not meet the above requirements are subject to dismissal.

18. Missionaries Guilty of the following will be automatically dismised and their supporters notified.

A. Beliefs contrary to our Doctrinal Statement.

B. The use of Alcoholic beverages.

C. The use of drugs (except as directed by a physician for medical purposes).

D. Adultery, sex perversion, (homosexuality, lesbianism, incest, etc.).

19. Any missionary who is requested to meet with the President, Vice-President, Field Director, Board Members or a Board Member of Evangelism Missions, Inc. will have the privilege of inviting their pastor to be present in said meeting.
