1. Be a saved, born again believer with a personal call from God to be a missionary to a specific field of service.
2. Accept and adhere to our Mission Statement, Doctrinal Statement, Policies and Procedures.
3. Belong to a local, New Testament Baptist Church, within the United States, who agrees with our Mission Statement, Doctrinal Statement, Policies and Procedures.
4. Be authorized and commissioned by their home church and retain membership there while on the field.
5. Attend training sessions as directed by EMI.
6. If you have either been with another Mission Agency or have been denied affiliation with another Agency, you will not be allowed to do deputation as an applicant of EMI, until we have contacted the other Mission Agency and are satisfied that you are an eligible applicant.
7. We must receive verification, in writing, that you have read the entire Policy and Handbook before you can do deputation as an applicant of EMI.
8. All applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from their pastor with their application.
9. Applicants who embrace the following doctrines and practices will be rejected.
- Beliefs contrary to our doctrinal Statement.
- The use of alcoholic beverages.
- The use of drugs (except as directed by a physician for medical purposes).
- Adultery, sex perversion, (homosexuality, lesbianism, incest, etc.).

10. Missionary candidates must have graduated from an approved Bible College or Institute and have at least a graduate of Theology degree from that school. A copy of the Diploma must be submitted with the application
11. EMI adopts new policies, as we are led of the Holy Spirit. Applicants are expected to abide by these policies. Should EMI adopt a policy with which you are not in agreement, you will be permitted to withdraw your application. However, when you withdraw your application or we find it necessary to reject your application, your supporters will be notified and the reason given.
12. All missionaries must submit a medical physical from their physician before their full acceptance at the Board of Directors meeting.
13. All missionaries single and married must complete Candidate school prior to full acceptance as a missionary with EMI. Please note that the husband and wife are required to attend the candidate school. There will be no exception to this requirement.
14. Divorced individuals will not be considered for positions that require them to pastor or be ordained.
