Our plan in reality is not our plan for this reason. In order to have the right plan for the Orphanage we realized that the first two important things in having the right plan are PRAYER & FAITH. We called upon the Lord and asked Him for the right plan and we believe His Word "Ask and Ye shall receive" John 16:24". We know the first thing in having a plan is to have buildings to start with. The Lord led us to five houses that were being built in one compound with a high wall around all five houses. After much prayer and negations we were able to rent the houses for a three year period. All five houses rent together came to $300.00 a month. The Lord graciously supplied the money to rent the five houses for a period of three years. This is giving us time to put in place all the government requires for the approval of the orphanage and once that is done we can take care of 16 to 20 children in the rented houses.
Through prayer we began visualizing the plan for Safe Harbor Children's Home and Orphanage. to provide a home to house up to 200 children. We designed the Children's Home as a Residential Housing Development. We would construct seven 4 Plex Apartment Houses . These would be built to have house parents and two workers and house 20 -25 Children in each 4 Plex Apartment House. There would be a two story apartment building for the Missionaries, Medical and Construction teams from churches in the U.S. One office building, generator house, and a communications center. A large playground will also be built. there would be bore holes to provide safe drinking water for the entire compound. One acre will be for a medical clinic. the Medical Clinic will specialize in two areas (Pediatrics' and Pre Natal Care). Our vision is to have two mobile health clinics to go into villages. Christian Schooling will be provided for all the children. PRAYER MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
We are now trying to get the necessary things in place for us to be approved by Oyo State health services. You will find a list of these items needed as well as the cost of construction in the future. As soon as we can meet the basic requirements we can began to take children into the HOME.
We are working on acquiring land to build on for the future. We had been offered 40 acres in one village on a main road but they have withdrawn the offer due to having many farmers complaining about relocating and starting a new farm. Another village is considering giving us land on the same road so we will know something soon. We have 10 acres in one village which is a little off the main road where we have the Village Christian School. Pray the Lord will open the door soon for the Land.
